Kate is one half of the dynamic duo that launched Salty Daze USVI back in 2018. Although she didn’t grow up on St. John, she spent many childhood summers visiting her aunt and uncle, who managed the Cinnamon Bay and Caneel Bay campgrounds. Her love for the Caribbean took root during those visits and she was hooked.
A true water lover, Kate went on to represent Team USA in the 2008 Olympics in artistic swimming—because, of course, she’s a total powerhouse in the water. After hanging up her competitive swim cap, she taught at the St. John Montessori School and gave swim lessons to St.John youth. She then took a little detour to the University of Hawaii, where she earned a degree in Apparel Product Design and Merchandising. Naturally, she went on to design for the biggest names in resort wear, Tori Richard and Kahala, in Oahu.
Now back in Coral Bay, where she’s raising her three kids, Kate grew Salty Daze from its humble beginnings with Salt Shaker, into the six-boat fleet you see today. You’ll hear her voice on social media, big announcements, and even at her latest venture—Dazey Drive-In. Kate is all about designing killer merch and creating campaigns that get you hooked. And honestly, if she could just spend her days making music videos… she totally would.
