My boyfriend Anthony & I had an incredible time on the Salt Deck for a half day Lime Out tour ! Justin, the owner and... boat captain was awesome and we felt like we made a new friend. We visited Flanagan's Island, snorkeled (& saw a nurse shark !), saw some historical artifacts, & capped it off with Tacos at Lime Out ! We had an incredible time and we can't wait to bring our friends back for a full day adventure. Enjoy the beautiful & scenic drive to Coral Bay and hang out at Skinny Legs afterwards so you chat about all the fun you had !read more

My trip on the Salt Deck was awesome! Truly a fun and unique experience. I went with three young kids and there were... swimming/snorkeling options for all of them, including the three year old. They had snorkeling gear, comfortable seats with a view, and rum drinks in the cooler! The captain was also super personable, knowledgeable, and accommodating to what the group wanted to do. I am looking forward to getting back to the Salt Deck the second the opportunity presents itself! Thanks guys!read more

What an AWESOME experience! Easy to book, responsive, and the trip itself is one my family won’t forget. Landry was so... nice and informative, he even showed my mom who has been to St. John 30+ times 2 snorkel spots she never experienced! My 14 month old son had a blast too! The boat is impressive with so many fun details (slide, rum drinks, floats for enjoying the water, etc). Can’t wait to come back next year and book Salt Deck again!read more

Cancelled on us with less than one hour notice. Two crying kids under 6 who we have been promising this trip for... months. Cancelling last minute is bad enough. Way worse is the lack of caring. No attempt to fit us in another day, call another place. Just sorry not sorry have a refund, if you want a crying child call them up ASAP!read more

So glad we booked on the Salty Deck. Every amenity you can think of is on board - water, sunscreen, floats, snorkel... gear, Irie Pops, bean bags and yummy RUM PUNCH! We had Captain Justin and he was amazing. Showed us turtles, rays and he even got us a free “swim with the dolphins” experience. He knew a lot of history about the islands and was happy to share with us. The slide was a lot of fun even for the adults. We ended the day with tacos and drinks at Lime Out. Couldn’t have asked for a better day. We called 10 days in advance and they were almost full to book quickly or you may miss out!read more

Salty Daze Charters was one of our favorite activities on St John! Our group of 7 friends enjoyed a day with Captain... Jordan; he helped us come up with an itinerary for the day and his recommendations were perfect! We island hopped the BVI, stopped for drinks and food at several places, snorkeled, and ended the night with Pizza Pi. Salty Daze is top notch from start to finish. Both Kate and Captain Justin made our charter a once in a lifetime... experience. We were originally planning to go to the Baths, however, due to conditions we could not go and found it was a blessing in disguise. Captain Justin helped us develop a great alternative itinerary for the full day and made it so memorable!!! Loved the service, attention to detail and just how fun the overall day was for all 6 of us girls. If... you are looking for the perfect family boat day, look no further than Salty Daze. Captain Justin put together the perfect itinerary for kids and adults. Starting with a trip to Virgin Gorda. Kids and adults loved exploring the Baths. Then a quick snorkel stop where the kids snorkeled with turtles and last stop Jost Van Dyke for lunch and afternoon drinks at The Soggy Dollar Bar in White Bay. The boat is spacious and comfortable and the kids loved jumping off the back into the water. Many thanks to this Veteran owned business for giving us the most memorable day of our vacation! We had a fantastic day with Salty Daze. It was our third trip to St. John and a local recommended this charter company.... Kate, who booked our trip, was really friendly and helpful. We ended up deciding to go to Sandy Cay and Jost. Captain Justin was really knowledgeable about the islands and a lot of fun. We had a great lunch at Foxy’s, swam at Sandy Cay and had beach time and painkillers at Soggy Dollar. All in all, it was our favorite day on our trip. Highly recommend.read more

After cruising out of Cruz Bay to Soggy Dollar and beyond with Salty Daze Charters, we saw turtles, enjoyed the wind... blowing in our hair, loved snorkeling at the Baths, and lunch at Willy T's. It was the best boat trip and best boat tour I've ever been on in the USVI!! Captain Justin is amazing and such fun to hang out with. I took a charter trip with Salty Daze earlier this year and had a fantastic time! I have been on multiple boat charters... in/around the St.John area and these guys are the best! We were whisked away with a cooler full of beverages and Irie pops (delicious), to a soundtrack of our choosing, and taken all over the area to some of our favorite destinations. The owners and captain know the area very well and can provide you whatever kind of experience you are looking for. Definitely the best private boat charter in the USVI that I've had the in the area, check them out!read more

My husband and I agree this charter was the best day of our entire vacation. Captain Spencer listened to everything we... told him we were hoping to do on our day and he made an itinerary that was so smooth and carefree! We have been to the islands a few times and love to snorkel and he managed to take us to a snorkel spot we had never been to and we spent our morning swimming with nurse sharks, sting rays and sea turtles! We then island hopped and finished our day at our favorite BVI spot with a painkiller in hand. The whole day was so relaxed and smooth. Capt Spencer really listened to what we were hoping to experience and made it the best day of our entire vacation. We will be back and can’t wait for the next trip with SaltyDaze Charters and Capt Spencer!read more

Just getting back from an amazing day with Capt. Justin at Salty Daze! My wife and I were looking for something low... key, private, and special, and boy did we get it. We’re mainly used to spending time on the lake back home so we where really excited to get out on the open water and see what we are missing. From the time Justin picked us up at the dock to the time he brought us back, we were treated first class all the way. Our trip took us to some beautiful spots like the Indians, Cane Garden Bay, Foxy’s Taboo, and a quick stop in White Bay at Soggy Dollar Bar. At each spot he gave us a little background and pointed out unique little things to check out. For those looking to spend a relaxing day on the water, cruise in comfort, or go all out exploring, give the guys at Salty Daze a call, you won’t regret it. Oh, and if you have questions before booking, call Kate (Justin’s better half), she will explain everything and help you plan a wonderful day!read more

Absolutely the best charter boat on STJ! We were reluctant about getting on a boat because both my husband is 70+ and I... am 60+. Needless to say, we aren’t the most agile individuals anymore. From the moment we contacted Kate at Salty Daze USVI, we reassured it would be great day. Captain Jordan took extra time helping us on and off the boat, recommend the best calm swimming areas and taught us some of the rich history St.John has to offer. Would definitely recommend a private charter with Salty Daze USVI. You won’t regret it!read more

Salty Daze USVI was such a great recommendation! Our good friends who have been on the island for decades referred us... to Kate and Justin’s company for a Soggy Dollar Special. We researched many other private charter boats on STJ and were so glad we went with Salty Daze USVI. Kate was very helpful in answering all our questions (there were a lot!) and Captain Justin made us feel very safe. I was especially impressed with his lengthy but humorous safety brief at the beginning of our trip. We relaxed in style in their comfortable bean bags chairs while enjoying our Irie Pops. It was hard to peel ourselves out of them to head to White Bay... but we did it. Even though we were only supposed to go to White Bay, Justin snuck in a quick snorkel spot and we saw DOLPHINS! I’ve always dreamed of actually being in the water with them! Needless to say, it was a perfect day. Please look up Salty Daze USVI if you’re ever in the market for a private charter boat in STJ. Skip the cattle boats and go private... it’s worth EVERY PENNY!read more

THANK YOU to Captains Justin and Gregg for the experience of a lifetime. I wish I could give you 10 stars ! I was... really nervous as it was my daughters first time on a charter boat but right from the start Kate answered all of my questions and put me completely at ease. The tour of the British Virgin Islands was seriously the highlight of our trip. if you are debating whether its worth it TRUST me you won't be disappointed. We definitely got to see parts of the island that we wouldn't have otherwise and a little local knowledge goes a long way even though these guys have a lot of it!!!!! Not only was the snorkeling and scenery just stunning, I felt comfortable the whole time knowing our safety was in their hands. Thanks so much to the whole Salty Daze crew for making this trip one my family will remember ...we will be back :)read more

What a great trip with Captain Greg and Salty Daze! He was on time and even a little early for the pick up, got us... through customs easily and fast, and anchored us so close to the beach at Jost Van Dyke! He is knowledgeable, funny, and personable! My husband and I chartered the Salt Shaker for a day and it was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip. Captain Roberta was so... amazing, and took us to an incredible snorkeling spot for a couple of hours, then after we hung out back on board for a little, took us to Lime Out for great cocktails and tacos for lunch, where we floated around the rest of the afternoon. So much fun, we will 100% be back and go out again with Salty Daze (and hopefully Roberta too!) Thank you!!!!!read more

We cannot say enough about Salty Daze Charters and we highly recommend them if you are looking for a boat charter for... one of your days on St. John. We spent the day with Captain Justin as he took us on a trip around the whole island. Speaking of things we cannot say enough about, Captain Justin was the absolute best. All three of my kids, including two teenagers, loved his stories and little history lessons. When we stopped to snorkel, he was extremely helpful in making sure everyone’s gear fit perfectly. He wasn’t wrong when he told us that snorkeling in Tektite would be the clearest water we would ever see. The fish we were able to see there seemed fake. We felt like celebrities when he navigated the boat close to Honeymoon bay so we could hop off and swim to shore for a light lunch. On the way in, he stopped to show us a baby turtle that was swimming on the surface. We ended the day at Lime Out, just relaxing on the boat. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate and it was cloudy and raining pretty much all day but that didn’t stop us from having the best experience from start to finish. I can’t finish this review without mentioning Justin’s wife Kate. She is the one running everything behind the scenes. From the very first email, Kate went above and beyond with her correspondence, answering any question and doing it with warm thorough responses. We can’t wait to come back and spend another day with Salty Daze!!read more

Had an incredible day on the water with Captain Jeremy! The BVI is closed due to COVID, but that wasn’t a problem at... all. Remy knew all the best spots around St. John and kept us busy all day. I must say, we have done many boat charters—all to the BVI, but this was by far the BEST charter we have ever taken even though we had to stay in US waters. Had an excellent lunch at Pizza Pi. We lapped the entire island! I highly recommend and can’t wait until next year! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and for taking us to some wonderful snorkel spots we never knew about! Our trip with Salty Daze was absolutely phenomenal! We were limited in our time availability and Kate worked with us to... figure something out that would fit into our schedule. Captain Justin took us out to the south drop for some fishing and we had the time of our lives! In between reeling the fish in, we relaxed on the boat and enjoyed some great conversation. I would post a fish photo however my husband had ONE JOB and that was to take decent fish photos. He failed. Miserably. I will have to educate him for our future adventures! Captain Justin talked about their plans to purchase a larger fishing vessel and we can’t wait to book another trip on the new boat! We definitely recommend Salty Daze and we will be fishing with them again in the future!read more

Captain Gregg with the Salty Daze was the best. Very hospitable from the time we first met him at the dock throughout... the trip. Very accommodating with drinks and a comfy bean bag chair! We are long time residents of St John and wanted something special to celebrate a milestone birthday- to Make a Memory! Gregg definitely made it special! As an experienced boat captain, diver and training in water rescue he comes to the job highly qualified. On Gregg's advice and our familiarity with the area, our first stop was to snorkel off Lovango (a small island between STT and STJ). The ladder off Salty Daze made water entry and exit easy with Gregg's assistance. Next stop was Jost to clear customs accomplished by Gregg in record time! Wanting a relaxing day, Gregg suggested we could tour the island by taxi (since we had not been since hurricanes) and he could meet us at White Bay at One Love. We first walked the beach, noted the storm damage and re-building underway, talked to some locals and visitors, visited the shops/bars and then met "Buns" for a Taxi tour of the island. We met Gregg as planned for return trip. Seas were a bit rough due to weather change but with Gregg's skill and Salty Daze's speed and design the trip back was comfortable. We would definitely recommend Salty Daze and Gregg to our Villa guests and others visiting St John. We are planning another trip with Gregg and Salty Daze when family visits in March.
