BOAT CHARTERS TO THE BRITISH
VIRGIN ISLANDS

This is a great taste of the BVI as a first time itinerary! A little bit of Jost, snorkeling and a pirate ship!

Start the day by checking in through customs at Great Harbor, Jost Van Dyke. Explore the sandy road for some light shopping and welcome drinks. Walk down to Foxy’s Tamarind restaurant for grab and drink and meet Foxy himself! He usually swinging in his hammock or greeting visitors with a song or some of his jokes! Or head to Corsairs for their famous bloody Marys.

Once checked in, you’ll make your way to White Bay, home to many world famous “must dos”. Drop anchor right at the water’s edge and swim to shore. Trust us, you won’t mind swimming, as the water doesn’t get better than this. Grab a Painkiller at Soggy Dollar, eat lunch and play giant jenga at Hendos, grab a hammock or just sit in a laid back Adirondack chair and take it all in. There is a reason why this beach is on most Travel lists, its simply like no other.

Other options for lunch at Jost would be Foxy’s Taboo or B-Line bar, a little less crowded and off the beaten path. Sandy Spit or Sandy Cay make for some picturesque photos (think Corona commercial-tiny sandy island). If weather permits, a hike to the bubbly pools is a must see!

Jost Van Dyke is only 3 miles, but it’s just one of those places that calls you back, again and again.

Next, you’ll head back through the Sir Francis Drake Channel to some snorkeling at the Indians or the Caves. The Indians consist of four pillars, underwater tunnels, abundant coral gardens and underwater caverns. Enjoy it from the surface for an easy snorkel or free dive down if you feel comfortable-great stop for everyone in the family! The Caves are full of treasure lore and spectacular snorkeling…keep your eyes peeled for something shiny!

Lastly, a stop in the BVI wouldn’t be complete without jumping off the Willy T, a floating pirate ship restaurant/bar!

This trip is all about JOST! It may be one of the smaller British Virgin Islands with a laid back vibe but it is full of rich history and charm. Spend the day exploring this gem!

Clear and customs and get straight to exploring. Choose from many world famous restaurants: Soggy Dollar Bar, Hendo’s HideOut, Foxy’s Tamarind Bar, Corsairs (bloody marys), BLine, Foxy’s Taboo and One Love. Sit under the palms and watch them dance, warm your toes in the fine white sand or enjoy a leisurely hike. Jost has it all!

Sitting just off the east end of Jost, stop by Sandy Cay, Green Cay or Sandy Spit. Uninhabited islands of white powdery sand and that picturesque Corona commercial photo op!

Journey up to Virgin Gorda to explore the BVI’s iconic and pristine rock formations, the Baths. Woven throughout the shoreline and winding into the island, these beautiful granite boulders create a show stopping tour of grottos, caves and tide pools that all ages can appreciate. Being the third largest BVI island, it maintains unspoiled beauty and a laid back atmosphere.

Head even further up the chain to the North Sound for exclusive islands and delicious restaurants. “Anchor your heart” at Saba Rock or enjoy the nautical village of Bitter End Yacht Club, both completely rebuilt after the 2017 storms.

As we make our way back to St. John, if time permits, enjoy pristine snorkeling on some of the stops on the way home, like Ginger, Cooper, Salt and Peter. Lastly, there is always Norman Island, home to theand the Caves +Indians.

Please be mindful that Virgin Gorda is roughly 30 miles from St. John and is not always accessible due to marine conditions. Safety and comfort is our number priority!

.Enjoy some of the lesser traveled BVI isles, just a stones throw away from St. John. Norman, Peter, Salt, Cooper and Ginger islands line south east side the Sir Francis Drake Channel and offer remote snorkeling, tales of piracy and more. A sailor’s ditty helps you remember their names, from west to east: “Norman and Peter give Salt to Cooper and Ginger”

Norman Island is famously known as “Treasure Island’, coined by Robert Louis Stevenson’s book. Home to the Caves, beautifully formed water caverns with schools of colorful fish and abundant coral, and the Bight, home to a large mooring field and the floating pirate ship, the Willy T.

Peter Island has palm tree lined beaches and home to a beautiful resort. Protected anchorages for snorkeling and just off to the east lies Dead Chest…more pirate lore!

Salt Island got its names because of the salt ponds! It’s rugged terrain was once inhabited to mine the low lying salt ponds, but now lies vacant. The wreck of the Rhone, an 1800’s British Mail Steamer, lies off its shores.

Cooper Island hosts one of our favorite lunch spots, Cooper Island Beach Club. An eco friendly resort, white sandy beach and easily accessible dock, this is a great stop with incredible snorkeling.

Ginger Island has a similar aesthetic to the Virgin Gorda’s baths, large boulder formation, but with less development and larger cliffs. Incredible snorkeling off its neighboring hot spot, Fallen Jerusalem.
